Go beyond your limits, play with the wind, pick up speed, set yourself new challenges… all this is possible during your sand yachting session! Accessible to all, this leisure activity is a must on our beaches!

What is a sand yacht?

For those who don’t know, a sand yacht is a 3-wheeled craft propelled by the force of the wind using a sail. We practice sand yachting on the beach at low tide. You sit or lie down in the hull and use your feet to steer the front wheel, and the ropes to maneuver the sail. At ground level, sand yachting allows you to reach good speeds and provides great sensations!

    In Coutances mer et bocage, there are 3 places where you can practice sand yachting:

    Association Nautique Hautaise in Hauteville-sur-Mer, Centre Nautique de Coutainville in Agon-Coutainville and Centre les Sables d’Or in Gouville-sur-Mer.

    Sand yachting sessions are open to everyone aged 10 and over. Lasting 2 hours, you’ll learn how to handle the sand yacht, safety instructions and how to operate it before setting off on the sand. Groups are of around 10 people.

    The session costs 35€.

    Registration is essential, especially in summer, as there are many requests.

        Sand yachting sessions are open to everyone aged 8 and over. The 2-hour sessions include: explanations of safe handling, preparation of equipment and rolling on the sand on a safe, signposted course.

        Sessions cost 35€

        It’s essential to register in advance (around 10 days) to be sure of getting the places you need, as demand is high, especially during the summer months.
